Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison has lavished praise on Jeremy Doku, describing the Manchester City winger’s recent outings as “breathtaking.” Doku netted twice in City’s thrilling 3-3 draw against Everton, and followed it up with a decisive 60th-minute goal in a 3-0 victory over Brentford.
Pep Guardiola’s side secured a vital win against Brentford to keep their slim Premier League title ambitions alive, with the Belgium international playing a key role in the triumph.
“Brentford made it tough, and I was sitting there thinking, ‘Who’s going to produce a bit of magic?’ – then Jeremy Doku delivered with an unbelievable finish,” Morrison said on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily. “He has been brilliant. Absolutely breathtaking. When he plays like that, he is a world-beater and among the very best.”
Morrison highlighted Doku’s ability to trouble full-backs by cutting inside or going wide, calling his strike against Brentford “outstanding.” He added, “If Manchester City want to win the league, he must maintain this level. His contribution will also be crucial in the FA Cup final.”
