Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has hinted that he could leave the club at the end of the 2025/26 season. In comments to Canal Plus+, published by Spanish newspaper Marca after Barcelona clinched the LaLiga title, the Polish striker stated that he has not yet made a decision about his future and plans to evaluate different career paths in the coming months.

During the interview, Lewandowski said he would “wait for different options to arise” before deciding his next move. His contract with Barcelona runs until June 2026, and according to Cadena SER, the club has not yet made a formal renewal offer.

– We’ll see. I will probably wait for different options to come up and then decide what is best for me and my family, so we will probably have to wait a bit longer. I think, at the end of the day, it’s about choosing what we consider best. You can’t separate one thing from the other (ambitions or family life), because everything is important. I think in the end it’s about choosing what we consider best. And that’s the path we will follow.

Lewandowski is attracting interest from major clubs and leagues that have been investing heavily in football. According to Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Milan, Atlético Madrid, and Fenerbahçe want the striker. MLS side Chicago Fire and the Saudi league are also options.

– There could be an option in a lower league. I’m almost 38, but I feel physically good, so I’m considering that. I have to take into account the possibility that it might be time to play and enjoy life. Maybe that option will appear, and I don’t rule it out. I just found out I have 51 days left on my contract, so I still have time. I will listen to a few more offers and then decide. I appreciate where I am and like it. Let’s see what happens, but what’s clear is that I will keep playing – said Lewandowski after Barcelona’s title win.

Lewandowski joined Barcelona in July 2022. Since then, he has won three LaLiga titles, along with the Copa del Rey and three Spanish Super Cups.
