Los Angeles Lakers point guard Luka Doncic has been impressed with the level of communication from new team owner Mark Walter, according to The Athletic, citing journalist Sam Amick. Walter acquired a controlling stake in the Lakers from the Buss family for approximately $10 billion.
“Doncic has had regular contact with new Lakers owner Mark Walter and has been impressed by the level of communication. Doncic believes Walter made a smart move in purchasing the team’s stake for about $10 billion,” Amick said.
Doncic suffered an injury in early April, causing him to miss the end of the regular season and the playoffs. The Slovenian guard’s recovery progress has raised questions about the Lakers’ playoff hopes.
