The mother of top NHL draft prospect Gavin McKenna has been charged with two counts of providing alcohol to minors, according to court documents filed on April 29.
The Centre Daily Times reports that Crystal McKenna, 44, was caught on surveillance video at a pub on January 31, ordering two vodka cocktails and handing one to her son. The footage also shows her pouring her drinks into cups for two underage girls.
A state alcohol enforcement officer reportedly recognized the girls were underage because they were wearing wristbands typically used to mark patrons under 21.
The pub had previously allowed entry for minors accompanied by a parent before 7 p.m., but has since banned all underage visitors.
On the same evening, Gavin McKenna—considered the frontrunner for the 2026 NHL Draft—allegedly assaulted a person, resulting in a broken jaw. However, charges against the 18-year-old forward were later dropped.
A preliminary hearing for Crystal McKenna is scheduled for June 3.
