Shenzhen head coach Zheng Yonggang discussed his team’s upcoming Game 2 against Zhejiang in the CBA quarterfinals, noting that import big man Ibu Baji’s shot-blocking ability was on display in Game 1 but that he will face a much tougher challenge tonight.
Speaking to the media, Zheng praised Baji for recording four blocks in the series opener, demonstrating his effectiveness as a rim protector. However, he expects Zhejiang’s import center, Dakari Johnson, to see more playing time after being limited by foul trouble in Game 1.
“In the first game, Dakari was hampered by foul issues and didn’t play much. But I expect his minutes to increase tonight, which will put Baji under significant pressure when defending him in the low post,” Zheng said.
Shenzhen currently leads the best-of-three series 1-0 and can advance directly to the semifinals with a win in Game 2.
