As Toronto gears up to co-host the World Cup alongside the United States and Mexico, city health officials are rolling out a playful yet practical public health campaign—offering free limited-edition condoms with soccer-inspired designs to encourage safe sex among visitors and residents alike.

With over 300,000 tourists expected for the tournament running from June 11 to July 19, Toronto Public Health (TPH) is distributing six unique condom wrappers that “celebrate the energy of the games and promote sexual health.” The designs include cheeky slogans such as “Block those shots!”, “What a finish!”, and “Peaches & Cream,” the latter featuring images of a peach and an eggplant positioned in front of a soccer goal.

The condoms and other safe-sex supplies will be available at four TPH-operated sexual health clinics as part of the CondomTO initiative, which aims to reduce stigma, connect people to sexual health services, and encourage consistent condom use.

“Studies show that using a condom every time you have oral, anal, or vaginal sex reduces the risk of sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections, HIV, and/or unplanned pregnancy,” TPH stated on its website.

The campaign cleverly ties into the World Cup’s “goal” theme, reminding everyone that scoring safely is always a winning move.
